One reviewer recently wrote about P.O.D., "P.O.D. have never got the love and recognition they deserve, their Christian influences have often seen them unfairly ridiculed and their sheer talent ignored." For "Christian influences" you could substitute "songs and interviews where the band passionately proclaim Jesus Christ and that far from showing sympathy for the Devil we should snuff the punk." Having said that though, the reviewer's comment is absolutely true. This latest set sees them back in full flow and this, their 16th album by my count, has plenty to keep their loyal supporters moving and moshing. "Rockin' With The Best" and "Soundboy Killa" feature guitars that bite through the mix like a laser and Sonny's rapping is loud, proud and spot-on. "Circles" manages to be smooth and groovy while delivering its serious anti-drugs message and "Panic Attack" is distorted punk metal with a refrain lifted from Cyress Hill that then deliciously switches to a reggae riddim. I thought P.O.D.'s 'Murdered Love' album in 2012 was hugely powerful. That same kind of rage is caught here on "Listening For The Silence". Yep, P.O.D. can still deliver the goods.
