The prolific Playdough needs no introduction with his trade mark mix of sounds featuring the acoustic melodic signature of Ill Harmonics contrasting with the starker Phonetic Composition vibe. A tad predictable in places and I couldn't shrug the nagging feeling that Playdough and Knight sounded richer a couple of years back. That said, the tracks that work on this CD are superb and memorable. So, check out the beautifully bass-centric “You Will Listen”. The pounding “Seeds Of Abraham” (there's a track that needs serious air play!) and the unusual indi hybrids “Clappy Valentino” and “Simple 1” a couple of true head nodders. A bit more direction and consistent quality and this would have been a cracking album, worth a spin though, if you like your Playdough.
