The '8 Great Hits' aren't the classiest compilations you'll ever encounter but they are useful introductions to US CCM artists, particularly if you've only recently discovered the delights of Christian music. This set offers one song from 1994's 'Rebecca St James', three from 1996's 'God', one from 1998's 'Pray', one from 1999's 'Wait For Me: The Best Of Rebecca St James' and two from 2000's 'Transform'. It's fascinating to compare the synth pop confection of her 1994 song with the far more abrasive (and satisfying) pop rock efforts while the opener "God" is a stone classic in anyone's book. If you haven't got the Australian singer's old albums, check out this 2006 compiled budget line release.
