You've seen the calendar, now hear the CD. In case you missed the news story in the last CR, Rodney Matthews, fantasy artist/graphics designer of international repute, took three of the mind boggling designs from his 1993 calendar and passed them to fellow Christian and keyboard wizard Rudi Dobson. The results you can hear here. To get the full effect you need to have the calendar open before you and allow Dobson's billowy evocative interpretations of "Sanctuary", "Almost Home" and the title track to engage your senses. Magnum's Tony Clarkin provides some tasty guitar and the only slight disappointment is that studio budget restraints stopped Rodney, no mean drummer, from playing a real kit, the designer/percussionist having to be satisfied with programmed drums. But this is still stirring. Wakeman-esque instrumental music. Progressive rock lives!
