A re-release on Dana's Heartbeat label for Sal Solo's recent sojourn into introspective chant-style worship. (Well, that's how protestants will perceive it. Catholics will hear it as a musical celebration of The Rosary.) Sal really strums that acoustic with a thud and provides a perfect beat for each rant. The opener "Do Not Be Afraid" was by far my favourite when I first listened to this on it's initial release in 1991, and I haven't changed my mind since. Talking of Mary's conception of the baby Jesus the lyrics are as beautiful as any of Michael Card's efforts. But there's more than just the one track that can do the business for you here. This album is ideal for those thoughtful, refletive moments, and indeed for understanding a little more of what the Bible tries to tell us. Acoustic led, though with obviously programmed drums and various musical 'guests' (Dana, Paul Jones, David Grant) making appearances it's an atmospheric concept album well worthy of your time second time around.
