'Porque No Sonries?' ('Why Not Smile?') sees Latin rock artist Samy Aleman creating a platform to communicate the Gospel to the Hispanic communities in the USA and obviously Spanish speaking people throughout the world. Born in Cuba, this 25 year old has been living in the USA for the past decade and was previously part of a Latin praise and worship band Dynamis. Here he links funky grooves, Latin rhythms and plenty of rock guitar to create something that is strongly melodic and of course that's about as far as I can go in describing this since all the lyrics are in Spanish! Except to say "Con tan corta carrera artis-tica, este talentoso joven ye se encuentra planeando una gira de conciertos por differentia ciu-dades de Hispanoamerica y los Estados Unidos." Thought you'd want to know that! If you're into the music that has recently been birthed through the Latin explosion, these eight tracks are right on the money!
