A few changes have been a foot for US rockers Satellite Soul. Having stripped down to a three piece, gone are the retro sounds of yore making way for a more acoustic dynamic to the band's sound. 'Great Big Universe' boasts some wonderfully honest compositions concerned with life and faith, penned from a humble and contrite heart. The album is faultlessly produced by the team of Paul Ebersold and Tim Suttle, where certain unique compositional ideas have been successfully realised. Apart from the opening title cut however, I'm of the opinion that the majority of the material herein suffers from an over familiarity within the context of both the album and the genre it represents. Big Universe' is a welcome dose of honest musical expression that is both encouraging and uplifting.
