The guys call this a single but with six songs this is an EP by my reckoning. Top track is an excellent, catchy song which goes from a Travis-style opening momentarily transforms into gentle reggae. Also memorable are the funky “Rhyme Or Reason” and the wistful acoustic ballad “I Need You”. Singer/songwriter Phil Marcs is an elegant lyricist and throughout images about the Lord (“where the peaceful man pays for your sins while the world turns to violence” or, on “Houdini”, Marcs’ painful experiences with drugs (“played with fire until we got burned”) shine with truth. An exceptional new pop rock team. Catch them at a gig near you.
