Here's a musical subgenre seldom approached by gospel musicians, slinky, 3.00 am style jazz soul. And in truth it's beautifully executed thanks to a fine singer - New Orleans pastor and actor Perrilloux - and a gifted songwriter/producer Bernard Stevenson. Mike Rimmer has already enthused about the lightly funky "Do The Right Thing" and, other than the lack of real horns (a synth playing the horn parts is never the same somehow), it is a retro delight. As it turns out there are real horns on "Dance" and "Be Blessed" and they benefit greatly as a result. Excellent throughout are the female backing singers and Arron Stapley's delicious jazz guitar while Steven's hoarsely soulful vocal lends itself effortlessly to Bernard Stevenson's compositions of faith and devotion. Surely one of the most deliciously laid back gospel albums and I for one want to know more about this artist who's delivered such an unexpected gem.

I absolutely love this album. I can just put it on repeat and listen to it over and over because it's so refreshing and uplifting. Every song is wonderful especially "Love You From my Heart." That's my favorite! :)

I like the cd and i thought that it was wonderfully done by benard stevenson and performed by pastor perriloux. Do the right thing is definitely the hit single on the cd. The lyrics are very uplifting and the music is groovy. The wedding song is a beautiful ballad for many weddings.
