‘Broken Tongues’ is causing quite a stir in the CCM market Stateside.  Featuring Bob Gross (vox), Kyle Dietz (drums), Jason Foures (bass) and Quinton Gibson (guitars).  Stir kick up a storm of sonic intensity and diversity.  Bob’s vocal delivery is both raw and gutsy, adding extra punch to the overall sound of the band.  Produced and arranged by both Bob and Kyle, ‘Broken Tongues’ captures the band’s raw passion, accurately translating the band’s intensity of sound onto disc.  Amidst the harder elements of Stir’s sound, are set some beautiful ballads (“Paradise” and “Higher”).  One track that stands out, however, has to be the stunning power ballad “Little Love”, concerned with the need to love in both word and deed, amidst a world void of the true meaning of divine love.  If you like your music hard with a sub-metal kick, then Stir’s debut disc is well worth checking out.
