Recorded at Taize in August '95, with the solos and most of the other vocals sung in English. The informative booklet gives background knowledge, lyrics and guidance on using the songs in worship situations. The recording is wonderfully atmospheric and has a better quality sound than some Taize recordings I have heard. As always, some lovely material here, deeply expressive, satisfying and communicating a profound joy and peace. Sensitivity is the hallmark, nothing forced or reputations at stake, just simple beauty to aid contemplative prayer and Biblical meditation. The songs can easily find a good home in local congregations; pieces such as "In The Lord I'll Be Ever Thankful", "Sing To God" and "Kyrie Eleison 10" are gems by any standards. Refreshing and rich, with spiritual quality of a virtually unique brand.
