The opening bass riff and vocal gymnastics set the scene for this album of classy pop with a real R&B feel. Tara has a five octave range and it means that she can produce some beautifully full low notes as well as belt out some real highs without sounding like a screeching cat. The songs are well arranged and produced, and while they all showcase Tara's stunning voice it never overpowers the musical arrangement and the lyrics hit home with conviction. From the opening R&B of "Back And Forth Man" through the haunting ballad "With You" to the uptempo pop of her first single off the album, "He Said She Said" all are handled with great composure and stand up well to comparisons with Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis. While it is obvious that there was not as much money thrown at this as some American labels would, the quality shines through and the album is well worth the listen and I am sure that we will here much more of this talented Canadian.
