The crunchy heavier end of rock is the territory occupied by Teramaze, although occasional '70s/'80s influences creep in. The scene is set right from the start with a sample from a baptism before the band comes in and your speakers explode! Energetic, fiery rock fuelled by the tight rhythm section of drummer Tony Paulio and bassman Matthew Ritchie over which guitarists Adam Wilke and Dean Wells interweave a thumping wallop of guitar riffs and solos which powerfully connect. Then if you add the classic rock voice of Clinton Johannes, there is no doubt that this a band capable of making an impact! The sucker punch of the two opening cuts "Carousel Chain" and "Shadows" sets the scene for this album before the twin guitars of messrs Wilke and Wells introduce "Once Lost" and it suddenly hits me that here is a band capable of melding the best of '70s and '80s rock influences into something that sounds great in the '90s. There's a respite from the thunderous assault on your ears halfway through the album with the acoustic psalm-like "Storm Rain Tears". But it's immediately back into the fray with the heavy riffing of "Damascus" and thunderous drumming of "Deeper Crying". The mesmeric Quality of the final cut "Audience Of Evidence" and its straight ahead lyrics leave no one in any doubts about the central message of this band. The cross and Christ crucified.
