The Philadelphia-based rapper The Ambassador, aka William Tyrone Branch, should need no introduction. This is a six-track EP to whet the appetite for the upcoming album. Ambassador manages to deliver his classic style (from "The Thesis" and other projects) such as "Many Things" while keeping things musically and fresh lyrically as in the ragga inspired hook from Britain's Jahaziel on "Deserter". The EP kicks off with a synth riff before showing a slightly southern vibe on the title track and a deft, riding flow from Ambassador with his observation, "In fact this life is an hors d'ouevres/But there's eternity." The lead single, "YAH! (You See Me)" is a standout as Ambassador lets fly over a good old boom bap style break.
