This contemplative single from Dutch duo The Bowery - namely Rokus Maasland and Ramon Scherrenberg - tells of the need to walk the road that's "dark and long" without being weighed down. The lads keep matters non-specific to allow the listener to make up his or her mind about what those weighty but needless items are but this approach, along with the song's minor key setting and Maasland's throatily intense vocal, works well and gives a certain air of mystery to proceedings. A couple of acoustic guitars kick the song off before some light piano, brushes and 'cello are added to give some understated variety to the boys' straightforward sound.
