Seeing The Grenaways live is a hugely enjoyable experience. My first encounter at the KingsStock festival witnessed an enthusiastic folk band and the audience took to them immediately. Since that gig, they won Song For Cornwall in 2017 for a song on this collection, "Ster Kosel", which in Cornish means Quiet Stars. The other four songs explore very different themes. The title track is a reflection on David Bowie and "Rowen" is written in honour of lead singer Laura's cousin who died in a car accident. Other themes include Kris' granny ("Portobello") and photography ("Ghost"). The Grenaways bring something fresh and invigorating to the mainstream folk festival circuit.
