'Love Forever' is one of the many relics from the back catalogue of pioneering worship musician Mark Krischak now re-issued by America's Key Records. It shows a more mature songwriter than the punk rocker from a few years earlier. The Pearl operated briefly in the mid-'80s and here show influences from the likes of U2 and Bowie. Indeed the opening track "Church Bells And The Guns" owes much of its melody to "Space Oddity". There are some fine pop-rock hooks to be found here, notably on "It's Only Love" and "One Step Closer", though while the music shows real professional sensibilities, the production is pretty ropey, to say the least. But as with many items in the Key Records catalogue, this is still an intriguing item for anyone interested in the formative stages of Christian rock.
