As informed gospel fans will tell you, The Soul Seekers are an eight-man group made up of renowned session singers and touring musicians (Teddy Campbell, Warryn Campbell, Nisan Stewart, John "Jubu" Smith, Gerald Haddon, Charlie Bereal, Craig Brockman and Eric Seats) and with hit-making Warryn Campbell producing are able to attract some big name guests (this time gospel patriarch Marvin Winans lends his considerable talents to the album). The intro of Soul Seekers II evokes images of a night at the Apollo. There is a lot of energy with drums, a live recording atmosphere and a merry announcer. The track with Winans, "It's All God", is arguably the strongest cut here while "Time Has Made A Change" is a big surprise taking on a country music sound complete with steel guitar! "Hang On" is a mid-tempo song encouraging the listener to stick at it no matter what you are going through with the powerhouse lead vocals of Teddy Campbell simply mesmerising. Not quite the classic it could have been, but still an inventive album from a class act.
