As well as fronting the band the Prudent Moves, Poole's Steve Temple records occasional cassettes with his trusty acoustic and 4-track under the non-de-tape of The Strait. His songs are interesting, "Sex, Death, Love" caught the ear while the gentle ballad "All I Need", a simple song of faith works well. Steve's adenoidal voice won't be to everyone's taste and I doubt whether we'll ever see Steve treading Big Time Road but this engaging tape has bags of idiosyncratic charm.
