Although pedants could argue that "great hits" means very little on this compilation (I challenge anybody to name the Windsor Village UMC Mass Choir or the Heritage Christian Center Mass Choir as top of the tree exponents of gospel music) there is still plenty of fiery soulful music here. "And Yet I'm Still Saved" by Donald Lawrence And The Tri-City Singers features a storming lead vocal from Robin Rowe Stewart while "My Life Is Available To You" by the Potter's House Mass Choir (the aggregation presided over by the famed Bishop T D Jakes) has an equally riveting lead from Darwin Hobbs. Some have suggested that African American choir music is on the wane. That's not what's shown here.
