For many a long year our Australian cousins have demonstrated their ability to wed crunching rock attack to abandoned worship and now that seemingly the world and his dog has woken up to the delights of Hillsong United, now is a good moment to point to another houseband springing from an Aussie youth conference. This set, recorded at Fuse Box Studio, Victoria and packaged with a bonus DVD is a gem.
Like their last album 'Loud Worship From History Makers', it is crammed full of energetic and passionate rock worship music. The opening track "Here We Go" quite literally sets the focus for the album. It is a journey through tw12 tracks that encourages you to get in your car, put the roof down, and drive! "Rock With Him" is a statement of faith that encourages the listener to question his or her own spiritual life. But it's not all grunge guitars! "Holy" boasts some beautiful acoustic guitar and orchestrations, together with "Here I Am". And the moving ballad "All The Way" reaches anthemic heights. The DVD offers a unique insight into the making of the album, together with band interviews, and you really feel like you get to know the band so much better through the footage. An amazing six songs (four for the Verticality worship programme and two for the 'A' list) have been selected for the Cross Rhythms playlist. Need we way more?
