Reviewed by Tony Cummings Walk into a UK Christian bookseller/music stockist and you'll hardly be able to get through the door for praise and worship compilations. However, Fierce's 'Live To Worship' series has a visibility few other compilations can match and thanks to its commitment to licensing cherry-picking this latest 28-song two CD set is another exceptional value collection. With the exception of Chris Tomlin, just about every big name worship leader is here (Matt Redman, Tim Hughes, Delirious?, Hillsong United, Paul Oakley, Vineyard UK, Paul Baloche, Hillsong, Michael W Smith, Casting Crowns and others). Occasionally the selection is a little bit odd (why has it taken so long for 'Live To Worship' to showcase Stuart Townend's "In Christ Alone" oldie?) while one or two of the acts are still to establish themselves in the premier league (Al Gordon, Phil Wickham, etc) but on the whole this is top rate songs and top rate performances. If you get only one worship album this year, this may well be the one you want.
