A jaunty little album from the worship team at Liverpool Christian Life Centre who have clearly set up their equipment in a studio and captured something of their live sound on a Sunday morning. And they should be commended for penning their own material! After the opening rush of "You've Been Where I've Been" and "Father Of Lights" which both move along at a nice pace, things subside into "We're Longing For The Day" which is a cry for God to move in power, and "Holy Of Holies" which is an intimate prayerful pursuit of God. One highlight is "Eternally Yours", presumably sung by its writer Andrea Petts and it is a lovely simple worship song, nicely executed. Throughout the album, these are good songs but they are undermined by the male vocal performances which are sadly weak everywhere on the recording. It leaves me thinking that Jonathan Petts and Gary Szilagy might strengthen the overall effort of the team if in future they leave the singing duties to other members. Otherwise the story will remain the same, great feel, good songs, poor vocals.
