With so many excellent pop rock worship albums around it would be easy to overlook this release from a band from Modesto, California, at least until they come to visit good old Blighty. But that would be a shame as Worth Dying For have two excellent lead singers in Sean Loche and Chrissy Johnson while the songs they sing manage to avoid most of the genre's clichés and are performed with an exhilarating vitality. Cream of the crop is "Let It Out" while "Infiltrate", with a lyric consisting solely of the words "We will fight for you/We will die for you/We will go for you," is an extraordinary climax. Don't quite understand why they're all blindfolded on the front cover sleeve - maybe it's to do with facing a firing squad - but with music as spirit-lifting as this I'll forgive them that obtuseness.
