This is the first CD from a guitar-driven rock/worship quartet based in the South of England. But this is by no means a debut release. A previous set of songs, 'Twelve Stones' was an i-Tunes only release in 2006. Add to that the fact that this band have been playing together for around 10 years! Prior to 'Twelve Stones' they had blazed a trail as Namelessmusic, a name showing a humility not normally associated with rock musicians. The opening track of the five on offer here, "I Am Your Child" has a crunching guitar lead at times moving in to U2 territory. This is the rockiest track on this offering and for me the one that works best. The catchy "God With Us" creeps up on you. The lyrical approach in these songs is usually simple in that verse and chorus tend to be repeated, lending itself to the live worship setting. It's all very God-centred and intimate. It's pleasing to hear a worship band that aren't afraid to make use of a good rock guitar solo to add something extra to the mix. And Paul Clements adds some tasty harmonica on the closing "Magnify". Worth catching in a live setting.
