This was a really interesting, intriguing interview and it was a good window into his personality. I don't personally agree with many of his viewpoints, but as a Christian musician, I completely sympathize with his frustrations with the Christian music industry. I think his music is great whether it be solo material or DC Talk. But I still speak for millions when I say I'd love to see a DCTalk reunion.

I am glad the Kevin Max is back in the game, I did not know about the his Divorce until I read about in CCM. Not to make light of what happen, but the black balling of a person is just so not needed "Amy Grant" she went 2 Divorces and yet I would here things like ohh its just bad timing shes got great heart, she great christian, just bad luck, In fact it is amazing that we heard about her Divorce, I remember reading about it in people not CCM, But Kevin CCM was there to black ball him.

What I have learned is that Christians are the most cruel, uncaring, self involved, people I have known. Sad if you ask me.

I have to agree with what u say about christians being cruel and uncaring, that's what makes me stay away from churches. Aaand it doesn't surprise me one bit that Kevin's been judged badly because of his (already difficult) divorce..., by christians of course! Go Kevin! U r an awesome artist and this was a great interview, thank you. And surrender that hat!!!

It appears to me that Kevin Max is evidence of God's grace. Looking back at how he started life, conceived as he was, he has overcome, with God's help, what may have otherwise been his fate. He is an example to all of how God can accept us, imperfect as we are. As someone once said, Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven. I for one hope he will someday release an upbeat praise album, as he is undoubtedly the most gifted performer in the Christian music scene and I'm sure it would be awe inspiring. Not holding my breath though.

Finally, a Christian musician with something to say! Why is it illegal to sing more than 'God is nice'? The Christian world needs people like Kevin Max a thousand times more than the conveyor belt of 'worship leaders' we seem to be inflicted with. Thanks for the insight into Kevin Max, I feel better for it.

Thank you for such a wonderful article. I have been a Kevin Max fan so many years and I loved his honesty and humility. He is a true Christian by showing the ugly with the beautiful that we all are. We are not perfect and we are not supposed to be.
