If the reviewer didn't know better he could imagine this was recorded in a bedroom by a young worship leader who'd just discovered The Wonderful World Of Midi, done some simple programming using his keyboard's "Enya" setting and got his girlfriend in to sing the timeless words of King David. In fact, this is recorded and released by one of THE Christian music labels whose work in establishing Jars Of Clay has been one of the marketing feats of the "90s while Tabitha Fair-the singer here who with producer Biff Vincent and programmer Tim Heintz are the nearest thing you get to an artist in this era of Christian Music Album Series As Artist - isn't a youth group unknown but a well known Nashville session singer last heard doing the vocals on some very good David Lyndon Huff dance productions. Considering the talent available and the resources at Zomha/Brentwood/Essential's disposal, this album is a monumental disappointment, just vacuous ambient-cum-MOR arrangements of forgettable melodies by Deidre Nicole Neely melodies. If it HAD been done over a weekend in somebody's bedroom it might have scored four squares, but as a protest against wasting God's resources on cheap-sounding, numbing unimaginative wallpaper music your editor has had to go in hard with the rating.

I agree. This is one of the most calming albums, and I've searched high and low for a decade to learn more about the Deidre Neely behind it. With reviews like this, I can see why she'd erase herself. As reviews show, and as I've seen, this album, for some people, really strikes a chord.

This CD was a blessing to me years ago in my time of need and still today it sounds like the angels of heaven praising the Lord God Almighty.

I'm really excited to have found this cd again!!! I've been looking for it for about 10 years!!! My sister and I both LOVE it! I have memorized most of the psalms on this cd because of these beautifully composed tunes set to the psalms! Not sure what the critic above was listening to, but I would listen to more of this if it was put out in stores!!!

I loved this when I first heard it and still love it. It lifts
my heart and I know it lifts God up. Forget the critic - this is one of the best to listen to and enjoy!

I bought the tape cassette my senior year of high school graduating trip to the Great Smoky Mountains at a Souvenier shop in TN. I played it immediately making that one of the most blessed and amazing trips in my life! I played it all through college and until my GF heard it, and I no longer possessed it. That was 2001!

I was Sooooooo glad to run past that memory last week of calming my nerves after Anatomy and Physiology classes with the words of Ms. Neely and King David. I found the entire collection of Psalms on iTunes, and will hold on to them in my heart forever!
They are part of my rock!

Your criticism of this CD is not worthy of a comment...except to say, "that it's not worthy of a comment."

I, too, found this page while trying to seek out who's behind this album which has calmed my soul every time I listen to it.

The Reviewer is a bit harsh. I bought this CD when it was entitled "Celtic Psalms." I expected acoustic instrumentation, and though it was not what was looking for, I came to enjoy the Enya-esque soundscape in its own right. The recording seems typical of late 90's pop-electronica, and offers it's own brand of soothing meditative Psalms. If you're looking to replace your old CD, check out iTunes. It's Under "deirdre nicole neely" + "Celtic Psalms"
