Veteran rockers After The Fire to make a surprise appearance at Greenbelt festival.

PIONEERING rock band After The Fire, who achieved considerable success in the mainstream before splitting in 1982, are to make an appearance at this year's Greenbelt arts festival, to be held at Cheltenham Race Course in August. The band have only played twice since they broke up, once for keyboard player Pete Banks' 50th birthday party and for a recent gathering of the band's fan club Friends Of After The Fire earlier this year. After the success of the latter performance, founder members Pete Banks and John Russell made the decision to put together a new line up of the band featuring John Russell's son on drums and Keith Smith replacing Andy Piercy on vocals. Piercy is now a successful record producer. Keith Smith was the singer with Pete Banks' post ATF band, Zip Codes. CR
