R&B legend Joe Simon returns with new gospel album.

ONE OF THE legendary figures of '60s and '70s soul music Grammy Award-winning Joe Simon has teamed up with the Original Motown Temptations to record a gospel album. Also guesting on the album, released by Parliament Entertainment Records, are the Christ Lutheran Church Choir. Simon, who left mainstream R&B in the '80s to devote himself to the Church, is today Bishop Joe Simon. His mainstream hits include "Teenager's Prayer" (1967), "The Chokin' Kind" (1969), "Drowning In The Sea Of Love" (1971) and "Step By Step" (1973) - the latter a UK hit.

I have been wondering where Miniser Joe Simon was since 1989 when he came to Fort Valley, GA and preached at Hunt Elementary Auditorium. He was awesome. Some said he had started singing R & B again, and I said I hope not. I only heard short versions on my computer of "There is a God Somewhere and a few more. He sings for God even better than he did for R & B. He still has that same unique wonderful voice like no other performer I have heard. I thank God for Joe Simon as R & B singer and I thank God even more for Bishop Joe Simon, Evangelist. It's always a blessing to find God. God bless you Joe Simon and if you are ever in Fort Valley, GA, please look me and my family up.
