Holly Spears moves into country music; makes acting debut

NASHVILLE-based singer/songwriter Holly Spears is set to release her debut country mini-album, 'Boots & Bling'. Spears wrote five of the eight songs on the project, some of which will be featured in the upcoming faith-based film Nail 32 in which the singer is making her acting debut. Along with Spears, the film stars Brad Johnson (Always, Left Behind) and Lea Penick (American Hoggers). The film depicts "the gruelling travels of the rodeo circuit, from the backbreaking bull riding to the musical oasis of the honky-tonks." Holly's mini-album features her songs "Brothers" and a song about her Grandpa, "Sunshine". Said the singer, "My 'Pap' was the glue that held our family together. I could definitely see Jesus in him, as well as an ornery side, which made everyone love him!"

'Boots & Bling' also includes covers of John Denver's "Country Roads", Paula Cole's "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone" and the Dixie Chicks hit "Wide Open Spaces" which Spears calls the theme song of her teen years. CR
