ARTIST Ian Traynar who runs CMA, the organisation committed to enabling the churches to understand the wealth of artistic endeavour, is to organise the Arts Tent at Cross Rhythms '94: Touching Glory. Said Traynar, "We believe that God wants to restore all forms of art in his Kingdom. The Cross Rhythms festival features mainly the musical arts but for the first time this year the festival will be profiling many other art forms." The Arts Tent will provide a performance area for theatre (both serious and light hearted), poetry, physical theatre, dance and mime plus being an exhibition area for the visual arts. Traynar went on, "We want to show how important art is to our humanness by encouraging everyone coming to Cross Rhythms '94 to participate. There will be face painting, learning to juggle, opportunities to draw and paint and competitions where people can read their poems or short stories. The aim will be to help us all experience the joy of participating in simple artistic activity while at the same time enjoying performers on stage who have a calling to the arts."
