Jennifer Hudson's album career launched with self-titled project

THE AUGUST 16 issue of Billboard magazine ran a two page feature on mainstream diva Jennifer Hudson. It succinctly summarised her career: "She went from being a choir singer at her church in her hometown of Chicago to a Disney Cruise Line chanteuse to an American Idol contestant to an Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dream Girls." On 30th September Arista/RMG will be releasing Jennifer's self-titled debut album. Amongst the tracks on the project, which features collaborations with Ludacris, Robin Thicke, Rock City and Timberland, is a rendition of "Jesus Promised Me A Home Over There".
