Mainstream band Evanescence has song distributed in Christian marketplace which they didn't want.

A CONTROVERSY broke out recently in the US concerning the mainstream band Evanescence. The band's debut album 'Fallen' for Wind-Up Records, a top 10 hit in the US, was briefly distributed into the Christian marketplace by Christian distributor Provident Music Distribution and topped Billboard's Christian Music Charts. However, Evanescence gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly where in strong language they said they didn't want to be distributed into Christian retail. The Evanescence album has now been pulled from Christian distribution. Wind-Up Records have another band, 12 Stones, and a forthcoming, Big Dismal, set to be distributed to American Christian retailers. Said Provident Music Group's CEO Terry Hemmings, "I really can't find fault in the process we or Wind-Up went through. The band changed its philosophy. That's the nature of artists. You can't control human behaviour." CR
