Hymnwriter dies on 4th October

ONE OF THE great 20th century hymnwriters, the Rev Fred Kaan died on Sunday 4th October. Kaan was a former synod moderator of the United Reform Church and his hymns are found in most Protestant hymn books. His best known works are "Healing Of The Nations" and "Now Let Us From This Table Rise". In 2006 Stainer And Bell published the biography Healing Of The Nations: Fred Kaan, The Man And His Hymns by Gillian Warson. CR
