One-time member of the Imperials, Joe Moscheo dies aged 78

A VETERAN singer and gospel music industry executive who for a number of years was a member of the seminal vocal group the Imperials, Joe Moscheo died in Nashville on 11th January aged 78. Moscheo joined the Imperials in 1964 as a singer, keyboard player and arranger. The group went on to work with Elvis Presley in the studio and in 1969 the rock 'n' roll star invited the Imperials to perform with him on stage. After leaving the group in 1971 Joe joined the copyright organisation BMI as vice president of special projects. He was also at one time president of the Gospel Music Association. Moscheo was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame in 2007.
