Miami's Surf Gvng getting attention for "Sam Cooke" single

THE RAP duo from Miami, Florida, Soul Gvng (pronounced Surf Gang) and producer Rev Mizz are getting a lot of attention for their current free download single "Sam Cooke", a song about the late singer who in the '50s switched from gospel music to the mainstream and in the process became one of the founding fathers of soul music. Said Surf Gvng, "It started off from a Bible study on Ecclesiastes 1 at a studio session. That led to a discussion on the state of America. As we talked about change, Wolf isolated himself in the booth in mid-discussion, writing the hook, and led Rev Mizz to create the cinematic feel of the track. The ultimate want for change led us to 'Sam Cooke'." CR
