With a heavy electronic vibe Chicago-based rap duo Alert213 offer a four-song EP. It's all pretty strong too. "Eye Dream" has Tragic Hero guesting and some strange dissonant passages, "Vandalism" features a moody flow from the always reliable Sho Baraka and "Glory" with its sung refrain "Only one hero/Only one God" has an eerie vibe that stays with the listener. Thematically though it's "Post Rock" featuring Jackie Hill Perry and Eshon Burgundy offering some intriguing thoughts on the suggestion that rap has replaced rock as the dominant musical form delivered over a belching electronic sounds which works best. Yep, an intriguing EP.
