This is the third CD by Anam Caras, who recently won the Best Folk Group category in the Radio Mike Awards by New Christian Music Enterprises. The group take their name from the Gaelic phrase for soul friends. This is the third CD in a trilogy all inspired by Ray Simpson's prayer book and the musical trio of Terry Braithwaite, Terry Mills and Jackie Mills have crafted another collection of folk-flavoured worship and meditational songs. Their vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar playing are first rate on all 17 tracks. It reminded me a bit of Mike Batt, which is actually a complement! 'The Cross In Community' is a well meaning, honest record and well worth a listen.
