For his debut release, Barbados-born and now Kent-based gospel artist Andre K Barrow has employed the services of a number of fellow vocalists to enhance a collection of tunes that deal with mostly matters of faith in slick soul fashion. For instance, Niki Carless duets with Barrow on "If You Only Knew" - a song about God's faithfulness sung to an unbelieving listener - whilst the tender song of gratitude for God's unconditional love "Thank You" benefits from the Jai Goody touch. Whilst the release's generally high production standards provide a slick backdrop to Barrow's material, the clunky and clichéd lyrics of the likes of "With You" ("I found me a woman who shines like the sun", for example) occasionally let the side down. But all is forgiven by the time we get to the accomplished closer "Diamonds" which, complete with a Corrine Bailey Rae-like vocal from singer Selin, is most definitely the stand out track on this maiden voyage.
