Andrew Poole is an 18 year old bass player from the worship team at Harvest Church in Street, Somerset. This autumn he went off to the Nexus Academy in Coventry to develop his talents as a musician and this CD is designed as one way in which he can raise funds. This is standard worship group stuff with a fairly predictable track lisiting (basically Andrew's favourite songs) so you get "Great Is The Lord", "More Love More Power", "He Is The Lord" and even that old chestnut "Be Bold, Be Strong". Got to be honest that though there are some nice musical ideas, particularly on the less well known material, mostly it's pretty ordinary and the singing is decidedly ropey in places. However, there's no doubting Andrew Poole's talents on the bass guitar, which shine on every track, so I have every confidence he'll do well in Coventry!
