Those in the know have been toting Rankin' Ann for quite a while and here's her first venture onto tape. This is dancehall, straight up dancehall and it's not afraid to be different. This 6-track EP has resisted the temptation to drift into soft reggae. The title track is a belter, with calls and responses that encourage worship. Ann Swinton has a great chatting voice. I was a little disappointed with "Get Busy and "Samaritan" as they are rap tracks which just don't work and sound about 10 years old. Ann Swinton's voice does not sound natural rapping. So if you stick to the dancehall tracks it's a great EP. With over five years experience of live performances this tape was produced by public demand and with some of the tracks recorded in Jamaica, this is the real McCoy. "Big Him Up"!
