For a while Anointed looked like establishing themselves as serious R&B gospel contenders as the genre’s major contributors but the ever diminishing line up seemed to see the group lose momentum and power with every change and exit. This is a timely reminder of what the group were capable of producing and there are plenty of gems here. The storming “Revive Us” is as stirring and inspiring as groove-driven gospel R&B can get. “Under The Influence” still sounds fresh and fine and “Send Out A Prayer” is a classic ballad whilst “Godspot” is a smooth piece of soul. There was a time when this group looked like serious crossover material but these days they’re working as a duo and recording independently. This momento shows what might have been.
