'Broken Pieces' is Ashley's first album release other than a beautiful piano-based 2003 demo recording called 'How You Love Me' and 'All That You Bring'. Following her move to Texas at the age of 17 to pursue her musical career she recorded this eight-song set. The musical style is rock-tinged pop with a slight country feel. The songs speak of an innocent desire to serve and worship God that is Ashley's heart. "You Are Worthy" sings of a dedication to give everything to the Lord of our lives. "Psalm" sings of God being our light in the darkness. One drawback is the rock nature of some of the tracks which don't lend themselves well to the sweet innocence of Ashley's vocals, which are better placed in a more piano-led style. So ironically that 2003 demo is a much better showcase of Ashley's talents. The lady recently received the Pop Artist Of The Year award at the 2006 KCCM Awards held in Kansas City and is currently writing new material for her next release. Hopefully that will feature more piano and less rock guitar.
