This is a most unusual worship outfit from Santa Cruz, California who instead of playing the usual hyped up Britpop light fare a la Hillsong United or a myriad of Soul Survivor type bands, have concocted a sound which might appeal to David Crowder Band fans looking for some adventure. You need to know that Benjamin Dunn isn't just musically unconventional, his idea of a world tour is to visit the hugest rubbish tips of the Third World and minister to the poorest people who live there. Many of the songs have been inspired by those trips and the band are currently trying to raise money to build a "leper mansion" in India. Highlights are the fantastic driving vibey sound of the title track with its thunderous drums, huge "shouty" backing vocals and euphoric sound. "126" takes things to the other extreme with a chilled out atmospheric sound. "Leap Like A Deer" is the direction Crowder should go in now if left to his own devices! It's quirky, fun and worshipful! The closing cut "Sweetest Thing" was born out of a spontaneous song that Dunn sang over a leprous woman in a colony that he visited while he and the team were ministering. This is one of the best albums I've heard this year and though it's an independent release, I urge you to track it down! You won't be disappointed.
