Contemporary is often used to describe the soft pop sector of the music market, and the label is most appropriate here. Well produced, well mixed, well finished, Benny's been around for sometime now and perhaps we shouldn't expect anything else. But the album is just that little bit too polished. The cliches are abundant and the melodies so, well, average. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Benny has a winning formula and has, unfortunately, stuck to it. Cliff Richard and Co might well use this work as a basis for any future show, it certainly has that Cliffy feel to it, with the exception of "Restless Nights" - a brave effort but best left to others who really have the experience to make it work. I suppose we're all guilty of criticising others when we could do no better ourselves, and so for myself, I have to give this album an agreeable nod and leave it at that. Its average and-that horrible word - nice, still at least it's the completed article....what can I say?
