It's been awhile since Beth's 2008 debut album 'Little Dreamer' went Gold but this 2013 released EP shows the Bristol-based singer/songwriter has lost none of her exceptional talent. One reviewer described her ghostly purr as "one part Nancy Sinatra, two parts PJ Harvey" but I hear a lot of Dusty Springfield-style blue-eyed soul in there as well. "Can't Stop Tomorrow" brings out all Beth's soul inflections while "Steal Away" is a blues workout that no doubt my blues radio presenter friend will be giving an airing to. The closer, "Princess", is a musical tale about a girl who seems to have everything but needs "good love." Christian Beth, of course, knows where that girl can find it.
