The Netherlands-based electro soul producer and vocalist Paul Dirks spent over two and a half years putting this album together. The soul influence of the likes of Marvin Gaye is evident particularly in Paul's vocal delivery while there is a variety of beats and grooves to keep the club crowd happy. "Labour Of Love" and "Thrill Of The Chase" show off a more laid back approach with an almost trip hop beat to them whilst "Don't Cry For Babylon" picks up the pace with a more big beat sound. For me the standout track is "Thank You For Moving" with its smooth vocal intro and insanely catchy beat and melody. With so much electronica these days lacking the invention and diversity to stand out this album is a real gem. It has a real relaxed summer's day feel to it, can almost picture myself cruising a convertible car on a hot day with this blaring out. Shame I don't have the car.
