What with compilations and live albums the world's premier evangelistic metal band have milked their repertoire pretty zealously recently, so this new album is most welcome. First response is that it's well up to power -power being the operative word as the band explode with the energy of an express train. Michael Bloodgood rasps compellingly on the opener "SOS" and shows again, on the slower title track, that he's one of the most expressive rock vocalists around. A lot of US white metal bands are today either folding or merging into AOR and indie rock styles. Bloodgood are no exception and head banging purists may decry the passing of the raw power of these early Frontline albums. But the rest of us can welcome Bloodgood to the same musical territory enjoyed by Petra.
