The 'Discover' series of six-song samplers is a useful way to catch up with some of American CCM performers you might have missed. Brandon is, of course, an award-winning songsmith whose "Give Me Your Eyes" was named the Dove Awards Pop/Contemporary Song Of The Year. It may be conveyed by metaphor but the message is clear - we need to see things through God's eyes if we are to have any real perspective. Another song here, "Your Love", is also a Dove winner and was Grammy nominated in 2012 while "I'm Not Who I Was" (Heath's first Dove winner from 2008) is an introspective consideration of change, with a nice acoustic vibe and an infectious rhythm. Throughout Brandon's vocals are crystal clear and production values are excellent, with effective musical backing complementing instead of drowning the lyrics. If you've yet to discover this Nashville-based songsmith, here's a budgetline to kick off your musical voyage of discovery.
