A collection of mostly new songs which avoids some of the pitfalls of many American worship albums: no hype in the packaging, no mushy over-production. First track, “Love That Is Greater”, opens with acoustic guitar which typifies the sound of the album and sets a tone of fresh mellow worship. But sadly, as it goes on it gets a bit dull. Production on the more up tempo electric songs is thin, making the whole sound rather samey. More seriously it all sounds rather cold and clinical: I'm sure they are singing out of a passion for Jesus but that doesn't come across on the CD. Similarly, the songs themselves tell competently of the love of God and our response, but lack a vital spark. There may be no new things to say in worship, but there are always fresh new ways to say them (there would be no point having new songs otherwise) and these songs fail to find them. For a similar approach done much better, I'll stick to British Vineyard CDs.
